HELP OUR COMMUNITY!

Help Our Community! was initiated by Cambodian Student Club in Kanto area in December 2007, and it became an educational charity project of Cambodian Student Association in Japan in January 2008. Its philosophy can be identified as an old saying, gGive a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; you have fed him for a lifetime.h

VISION

Help Our Community! envisions Cambodia, a prosperous and peaceful country where all women, men, children and especially youths actively involve their best to promote gender, sustainable socio-economic development, environment sustainability and quality of education, and to end poverty in the nations so that they are the efficient and effective leaders for a sustainable world community. We believe in a process in which young people become involved with and try to understand one another in action and dialogue and preserve the human dignity.

MISSION

Inform young people of their own community's problems, needs, opportunities etc.
Inspire them to take responsibility for their own community.
Involve them in a collective action for the common vision and goal-building a just and peaceful community through citizen service, civic leadership, and social entrepreneurship.

NOTE: THE MEANING OF OUR LOGO

- The earth represents the whole global community, and green means there's a need to help and protect the earth in its natural condition.

- The two figures of human refer to particularly young people.

- The red circle represents the sun. Usually in many pictures, the sun is above the earth, but here the sun is at the side of the earth. There are two reasons for this:

1. it is important to emphasize that it's OUR community - not just mine - not just his/her - not just yours. So the sun is put behind the word OUR to make it more noticeable.

2. suppose this picture was taken from space, looking from another different angle. The earth moves around itself and around the sun. There maybe time, from some particular angles that the sun is at the side of the earth.

- Letter O is in white color, just to make things more noticeable. One may say it's a contemporary design/style.

- The tick means it's the RIGHT thing to do to help our community. It is calling for attention from people. It is a suggestion to people who see it that: "come on, you should put a tick to it or take action on it - help our community."
